The Quaildogs Tickets

Focused on playing hard and having a good ‘ole time, the members of Atlanta-based The Quaildogs put their all into making sure that anyone who hears their music – live or recorded – is toe tappin’ and hip swayin’. With their folk-rock tunes and laid-back-yet-lively sound, The Quaildogs (a.k.a. The QDs) are guaranteed to get you out of your seat and moving. Available on iTunes, Amazon and Bandcamp, the band delivered their debut Extended Play in February 2012, and their second release, The Fall, the following September. The Quaildogs consist of talented musicians Michael Barnhart (mandolin, guitar, vocals), Lee Berg (bass, vocals), Paul Brandon (guitar, lap steel, dobro), Rob Jospehs (lead vocals, guitar), Marvin Moate (drums) and Graham Terban (violin). Mike, Rob and Lee became friends in college at Loyola University New Orleans and, after graduation, all decided to make the move to Atlanta. There, the guys crossed paths with Graham and Paul, who they soon realized share a passion for creating music. The guys eventually started playing and writing songs in Rob’s attic, and when Marvin joined as drummer, the sextet was complete. Matching the energetic swagger they bring to their performances, the band name comes from a party legend from the city of New Orleans. Her nickname was Quaildog, and the members decided to use it as an homage to the many fun times they had with her while down in the crescent city. Drawing their musical influences from a multitude of genres and bands/artists like The Band, Wilco, Neil Young, Bob Dylan and Drivin’ N’ Cryin,’ the young trio has developed a sound that is gaining notice by enthusiastic audiences around the Southeast. Making their first appearance on stage in 2011, The Quaildogs are rapidly climbing the ranks in the Atlanta music scene and have shared the stage with acts such as Marc Broussard, Futurebirds, The Hackensaw Boys, Whiskey Gentry, American Aquarium, The Wood Brothers, The District Attorneys and G. Love and Special Sauce, among others. Developing a fanbase at impressive gigs and festivals like The Steamhouse Lounge Oysterfest, the Virginia Highlands Summerfest, The Red Stripe Midsummer Music Fest, and even rocking fans at the Atlanta Braves MLB game on the 4th of July, these indie-folk rockers are proving that they’re here to bark loud and fly really high. The Quaildogs play music with a mentality that is sweet and simple: to have a great time and to try to bring everyone else along for the ride. With media like Atlanta Live Music Examiner claiming the QD’s as “one of the better live bands to jam their tunes around Atlanta and beyond,” it’s proving to be an easy task. So, until next time…fly high and bark as loud as you friggin’ can! Read more on User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
